 Kathryn Nikkel has been featured in numerous newspaper and magazine articles discussing her experiences during World War II and as a refugee. She has also spoken to many organizations and university groups on these subjects and has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Kathryn majored in philosophy at Wichita State University and speaks five languages. She has been nominated for Who's Who in Great Living American Women. Kathryn and her husband, Ed, live in Lovettsville, Virginia.
 Mike Zbailey has been published in the Washington Post, Blue Ridge Country, The Providence Journal Sunday Magazine, the Washington Times, C-Ville, The Washington Times, Albemarle, The Blue Ridge Anthology (Cedar Creek Publishing) and other publications. He is a two-time winner of the Virginia Writers' Club statewide Nonfiction Award. Mike lives near Charlottesville, Virginia with his wife, Jean.
